2. Module Installation

Note 1: Before installing any modules, ensure the motherboard is powered off. This product does not support hot-plugging.
Note 2: Wear anti-static gloves to prevent static electricity from damaging the components.

2.1 Install Rpi-CM5

Align the Rpi-CM5 module with the slot and place it flat. Gently press to ensure it sits properly. Secure with M2.5 screws for permanent use. To disassemble, remove screws and use a plastic pry tool gently.

2.2 Install the WAN module

Supports standard WWAN modules (30x51mm or 30x42mm) with M.2 B-Key interface. Insert at an angle, press down, and secure with M2.5 or M3 screws.

2.3 Install the antenna

Features internal (IPEX-G1) and external (SMA) interfaces. Install WiFi/BT or WAN antennas based on module requirements using appropriate adapter cables.

2.4 Install the SIM card

The J15 slot supports Nano-SIM cards only. Push in until it locks; push again to pop out.

2.5 Install the real-time clock battery

Uses a 2032 button battery (J4). Insert following the spring orientation until it locks.

Always remove the button battery before installing or removing any other modules to prevent short circuits.

3. Power Supply and Operation

3.1 Power Methods

  • External DC (P1): 5–18V DC socket.
  • Internal DC (J1): VH (3.96) connector, 5-18V.
  • USB Type-C (J2): 4V to 20V, supports PD3.2, PPS, and BC1.2.

The system automatically selects the source with higher voltage if both are connected.

4. Power On and Off

Power On: Starts automatically when power is connected. If in shutdown state, press SW1.

Power Off: Use system shutdown command or press SW1. Forced shutdown: hold SW1 for 3-5 seconds.
